THE GREAT COMMISSION

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" Matthew 28.19-20 NIV
The Great Commission stands as the most precious and important command entrusted to the body of Christ. It represents the most profound call in the life of a Christian, though often relegated to mere text and memorized by many, without full understanding or consistent action. The words of Jesus are clear and resonate throughout scripture, where he calls the Church, that is, each one of us, to partake in this mandate. The Church plays a leading role in this task, and the pastors are essential in equipping workers for local ministry as well as training men and women willing to overcome barriers and spread the message to the nations.
Missions have often faced obstacles due to a lack of workers, delays in sending them out, or the imposition of human will upon them. That is why today, more than ever, we need people who PRAY for the missions and the countries and nations God places in each believer's heart. It's crucial for churches to commit to financially supporting and sustaining missionaries in the field. However, it's also essential to foster, prepare, and SEND out individuals to the field, so that together we can fulfill the task entrusted to us by Christ. The church must not only focus on its internal affairs; in addition to evangelizing its local community, it must also look beyond, as there is still much work to be done.
